Since its founding in 1978, Kids in Crisis has helped more than 80,000 Connecticut children and families; in
2007 more than 8,100 children and families received assistance from the organization.
Based in Cos Cob, Kids in Crisis provides services to children of all socio- economic conditions in
Fairfield County, including those in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford,
Weston, Westport and Wilton.

Kids in Crisis Introduces National Safe Place Program to Fairfield County
Sites throughout nine Fairfield County cities and towns will provide immediate help to youth in crisis
Cos Cob, CT March 17, 2008 -- Kids in Crisis, the state’s only free, emergency crisis counseling center and emergency shelter for babies, children and teens will today inaugurate the national Safe Place program in Fairfield County, designating more than three dozen locations in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton as safe havens for children who need immediate help in a crisis situation. City of Stamford to Host First Olympic-Length Triathlon
Event expected to attract 500+ athletes, raise funds for Kids in Crisis
Cos Cob, CT March 6, 2008 -- More than 500 athletes from throughout the Northeast, thousands of spectators, and area businesses and corporations will take to the streets on Sunday, June 29, 2008 for the first-ever Stamford KIC IT Triathlon, an Olympic-distance event that will raise monies for Kids in Crisis, Connecticut’s only free, round-the-clock emergency shelter and crisis counseling center. Kids in Crisis provides Stamford, and other area cities and towns, with 24-hour crisis counseling services and free, emergency shelter care for children of all ages. [ more ]
