Created specifically for children in kindergarten through grade six, SafeTalk is a unique collaboration between counseling professionals from Kids in Crisis, educators and trained volunteers interested in teaching our children about violence prevention. The program, developed by the National Center on Assault Prevention (NCAP), SafeTalk examines different types of violence – be it bullying, physical assault or verbal abuse—and teaches age-appropriate techniques for staying “Safe, Strong and Free.”
Since its inception in 1999, the Kids in Crisis SafeTalk program, available to schools free of charge, has been presented in more than 1,000 area classrooms, reaching more than 37,600 students to date.
